Vorticism: A Brief History

Vorticism developed after Cubism and Futurism, and flourished briefly just before the First World War.  Wyndham Lewis was the founder of this avant-garde movement, which celebrated industrialization and the modern machine age with its powerful abstract representations.  It was given its name by Lewis's friend, the American poet Ezra Pound.
